Jamberry Nails Review

 

Recently I was introduced to a product totally new to me. Jamberry Nails. These are in the realm of nail stickers with pre-printed designs so you can have great funky looking nails with a heck lot less of a hassle. Being that I'm very often changing my polish look, this seemed like a good idea for me to be trying!

Generally to put the stickers on you cut a sticker that closely matches your nail size and shape then apply a warm heat to it with a hairdryer to make it flexible. You then simply place it onto a clean, dry nail and then you can use a cuticle pusher to further smooth it down. You can then file off any excess at the top of the nail to make it look flawless.

I feel I would more than likely wear these as an accent with my manicure so that I could easily change them if I felt like it and to get my money's worth out of a packet. They applied easily, but I did find it more difficult to do my right hand quite as neatly as my left. The removal of the Jamberry Nails is simple, just apply more heat to them and then you should be able to gently peel them off from the side. So simple, and a fraction of the time to put on and remove.

 

I teamed my cherry themed nails with Shimmer Polish in Natalie on my other nails. I did get quite a lot of comments on these when I wore them, so they definitely stand out and are worth having a look at I think!

It's also May Glossybox Time!

So you guys are gonna be sick of beauty box posts, but I really need to get myself caught up! May's glossy box theme was to celebrate their 2nd birthday! Happy birthday Glossybox! To celebrate they've presented us with a box featuring their favourite brands they trust and love.

 

The first product I had a good go at was the Givenchy Noir Couture Mascara. This came in a handy sample size and it's nice to try a mascara I might have backed away from simply due to the price (£22.50). I have been looking for a new mascara recently so I was intrigued to see if this would be worth the investment. It's got the weirdest wand I have ever seen. It's got 3 bumps in it just looks plain odd. But! It does the job. I like this mascara, my lashes were defined and looked longer, not a great curl, but a great overall look. It'll be coming on holiday with me that's for sure!

 

 

Caudalie is quite the cult brand of recent. A lot of bloggers and Youtubers swear by some of their products and keep going back for more so this intrigued me. This is the divine oil which is meant for use on the body, face, hair, nails or it could be added to bath as well. I've been using this mostly on my legs and my nails and cuticles. I find that if I put it on my cuticles before I go to bed they are much softer in the morning. And the smell, it's amazing. Just pleasant and comforting really.

 

 

 

This is Harmony Balm by Premae. It's said to be a great multi-tasker - being a moisturiser, skin protector and a primer in one. I've been using it a lot and enjoying it. My skin is quite matt after use and it does seem to act as a primer, helping my base to stay put for longer in the day. It also smells pretty nice of simple aloe vera and I feel like it's doing my skin good when I use it. Another product due to be coming on holiday with me!

 

 

This kinda non-descript looking product is a 'prime and create mixing medium' by Beautiful Movements Cosmetics. You can use it alone as a primer, mix it with foundation or with eyeshadow pigments to create liquid eyeliners. I've been trying it as a primer for the moment but I'm looking forward to using it as a liner with my Illamasqua Pigments I never seem to use these days. Will let you guys know the results! As a primer it's very soft and I hardly use any to get good coverage and to help my makeup stick. Pretty good so far!

 

 

 

Hooray! A nail polish, and by Nails Inc no less. Fabby. This is in the neon shade called Portobello. Not really my type of colour but I'll give it a shot for the summer. Quite like Nails Inc polishes so happy with this, shame it's a itsy bitsy size though!

 

 

And a wee present..awwww these mini nail files disappeared straight into my handbag, great useful stuff! Overall, a good selection for May I think, I do like the fact I will use everything in this box, such a plus point!

So it's May Birchbox Time!

 

So, recently I got my May birchbox! Again, I know I'm sooo behind with getting these reviews up, the truth is, I've just been so unmotivated after my work these days! But! The plans is to get all caught up on posts this week, so I hope you guys like them! Anyways, back to the box!

 

This month's box theme was red carpet ready - the idea was to help us gals get ready for a big night out all in one box - so let's see what was inside!

 

 

Ahh, a nail polish. Normally a winner for me, but not in this itty bitty size, and not in this colour. I am really not a pink gal at all! I do however, love OPI polish, so I did appreciate the decent brand in the box! I find OPI always applies easily in two coats and lasts really well, so had this been in another colour, I'd be running at it. But oh well.

 

 

This is 'Cell Plumping Facial Moisturiser' from a company called Elemental Herbology. It's meant to help boost and plump the skin's appearance and texture. I've used this a few times, and it's a pretty decent moisturiser, but there's no way I'd be paying the £42.00 they want for the full size. It does smooth the skin but honestly, I was really put off by the smell. It's really, well, herby! And it's quite strong with it too, and I felt like I could smell it on my skin all day which isn't so great. I'll use it up no issue, but really don't think it's a product I'll be investing in.

 

 

This is Body Souffle by B/Attitude, a body cream that's meant to nourish and absorb easily. I do love me a good body cream, but it's not something I would normally invest a lot of money in, and this is normally £24 for the full size. And totally not worth it in my eyes I'm afraid. It smells very like talc and although it does absorb easily, I found my skin felt sticky afterwards. I might just be biased, because I so love my Body Shop Body Butters, but this really didn't impress me.

 

 

Next up, we have a lip product. This is Enhance by Makebelieve. These guys are tanning experts and this lipgloss is meant to help enhance your natural tan. It's basically a sparkly lipgloss in my eyes, but it does look flattering on everyone and goes with everything the fact that it's almost clear. It has a lemony scent and 'taste' which is quite pleasant, I'll be experimenting more once I'm back from my holidays and actually have a tan! I'm not usually a lip product kinda person, but I'm trying to branch out on this as I get older, and this is a good product to help ease the way.

 

 

So, onto something that's definitely a pet hate for me in beauty boxes. Sachets or teeny samples of things. Not only that, but it's a sample I've had before in another beauty box. Arg. This is an eye cream from Doctor Duve, and it is a really good product. I feel my eyes looked a lot brighter after using up the 2 sachets, but the investment in this product is HUGE. They want £115 for the full size product. Crazy stuff. I'd much rather have had the money for these put towards a full size nail polish!

 

 

Finally, this was the lifestyle extra in the box. Tea. I'm shaking my head here. I don't drink the stuff at all, and again, I've had this product in a box before! I know inner beauty is important and putting the right stuff in your body can only do you good. But there's no way I'm forcing this down. Not a chance. It's meant to help calm nerves and de-stress, still not going near it though!

I did like the May box to some extent, but they'll have to do better in June to keep me ordering I think. The tea and the samples really let it down. I like trying the more luxury brands I've never seen before, but in this months case there's no way I could afford the full size product of most of them even if I wanted it!
